This free promotion has ended. The books are available on Amazon.

The clock started at midnight Pacific. Four engineering books are free on Kindle for 5 days only, from Fri 6 Nov 00:00 PT to Tue 10 Nov 23:59 PT. Time remaining: ends Tue 10 Nov, 11:59 pm PT.

Four engineering books by Sandeep Bandyopadhyay had a free Kindle week in November 2026. This is what they cover.

Four technical books by aerospace engineer Sandeep Bandyopadhyay cover ground that rarely reaches a general tech audience: how a drawing defines a part, how an aircraft structure is shown to be strong enough, and how the calculations behind that work can be automated.

Bandyopadhyay also owns TechyCluster, so read this as a notice from the publisher rather than an independent review.

What the four books cover

The set splits into two areas. The first is geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, or GD&T, the symbol language that tells a machine shop how far a real part may stray from its nominal shape. The GD&T Professional Exam Guide runs to 21 chapters and is aimed at ASME's certification exam.

The second is aircraft structures. Practical Airframe Stress Analysis comes in two volumes: 26 chapters and 85 worked examples on metal, then 24 chapters and 78 worked examples on composites. A third volume, Python for Aerospace Stress Engineers, turns the same hand methods into code across 23 chapters and more than 250 executed listings.

Who might want them

The obvious readers are mechanical and aerospace engineers, inspectors and students. The wider audience is anyone curious about how physical products are specified and checked. Tolerancing applies to almost anything machined, and it sits alongside the CAD tools many engineers now pay for. The Python title also touches a live question in many offices, namely how much engineering documentation can be automated safely.

All of them are reference-style books with worked problems, so they suit dipping in rather than cover-to-cover reading.

What you need to read them

You don't need a Kindle device. Amazon's free Kindle app runs on phones, tablets and computers. Drawing-heavy pages are easier to read on a larger screen, and our comparison of e-readers and tablets for PDFs covers why. If you do own a Kindle, our Paperwhite upgrade guide explains what newer models change.

Later this week we will look at the subjects behind the books: what the 2018 GD&T standard changed, how airframe engineers prove a part is safe, and why stress teams are moving to tested code.

Each book is free on Kindle for 5 days only, and only the Kindle ebook is free. Once you download it, it stays in your Kindle library. After the promotion it returns to its paid price, and nothing is asked in return.

Readers outside the US: the offer runs in every Amazon store that sells Kindle ebooks; check the price shows 0.00 before you click Buy.

Already read it?

If you read it and it helps, an honest rating or review on the Amazon store where you downloaded it would mean a lot. It is entirely optional.

Disclosure: these books are written by Sandeep Bandyopadhyay, the owner of TechyCluster. The free offer is Amazon’s Kindle promotion; we receive nothing for your download.
